Star Citizen Gladius: the fighter and the referral reward
A favourite light fighter, and the first flyable reward on the referral ladder.
Two ways to fly a Gladius: the Aegis Gladius is a fan-favourite light fighter you can buy or earn in-game, and it is also the first flyable ship on RSI's referral reward ladder, unlocked at 42 successful recruits. So it ties directly to the referral program and the code STAR-JTV7-FXLR.
The Gladius is one of the most-loved starter-friendly fighters in Star Citizen, and it has a special place in the referral program, so it is worth knowing both sides.
The ship
The Aegis Gladius is a nimble, single-seat light fighter, military heritage, easy to fly, and a long-standing favourite for new pilots stepping into combat. It is light, fast, and forgiving enough to learn dogfighting in.
The Gladius and the referral program
On RSI's recruitment ladder, the Aegis Gladius (the Dunlevy edition) is the first flyable ship reward, given to a referrer who reaches 42 recruits. Below that are cosmetic items; above it are bigger ships (MISC Raptor at 50, Freelancer MAX at 100, up to the Idris-M at 1,042). The full ladder is here.
That is the referrer's side. As a new player, your side of the program is simpler and immediate: sign up with STAR-JTV7-FXLR and your account gets 50,000 UEC of in-game currency after a $40+ Game Package. You do not need to grind recruits to enjoy the game.
How a new player gets a Gladius
You do not start in a Gladius, but you can buy or rent one in-game with UEC once you have earned some, or pledge for it (optional). The smart start is the cheapest pack, the Citizen Starter Pack at $45, plus STAR-JTV7-FXLR for 50,000 UEC to kit out, then work toward a fighter in-game. How ship prices work.
Whether you want to earn the Gladius as a referral reward or just fly one in-game, it starts the same way: sign up with STAR-JTV7-FXLR for 50,000 UEC. See the referral rewards.
